アロハシャツは、ハワイに移民として渡った日本人が着物を開襟シャツにリメイクしたことにその起源をたどります。Samurai ALOHAでもそんなアロハシャツの持つ物語を大切に、現代では着られる機会が少なくなった着物に、新たな息吹を吹き込み、新たな魅力とともに皆様にお届けしています。
ALOHAに再生されるお着物はその選び出し、洗い、ほどき、裁断のすべてを一つ一つ心を込めて手作業で行っております。手仕事を担っているのは、宮城県のお母さんたちです。
待機児童問題を抱える宮城で、お母さんたちが小さなお子さんと一緒にご自宅でしてくださる丁寧な手仕事がこのSamurai ALOHAを形作っています。裁断を終えた生地は福島の縫製工場へと送られ、日本の確かな技術で仕立てられ、皆様のもとにお届けいたしております。復興ブランドにとどまらない、Samurai ALOHAのデザインの魅力をこの世に一つしかない一点もののシャツの個性的なスタイルとともに楽しんでいただければと思います。

Samurai Aloha is a brand of Sendai city, which carries the hopes of rebirth for reconstruction of Tohoku, and also the revitalization and innovation of the Japanese spirit. Aloha shirts actually trace their own origin back to the kimono. The Japanese immigrants in Hawaii took example of the local open collar shirts, and made their own using kimonos that they brought from Japan. There are countless kimonos which rests unused in homes in Tohoku. At Samurai Aloha, they wish to breathe life into these traditional garments that are no longer used and to rediscover their beauty by adding a touch of Neo-Japonisme. All pieces of kimono used for their aloha shirts are selected, washed, unlaced and cut by hand by women in Miyagi. Miyagi is a region which suffers from shortages of childcare facilities after being washed away by the Tsunami of 2011. Samurai Aloha offers work for the mothers of this region which they are able to engage in from home whilst taking care of their children. After the fabric is cut to a pattern, they are sent to the sewing factories in Fukushima and in other regions of Tohoku to be finished with the meticulous hands of the local couturiers and finally delivered to your hand.
